Susan Sarandon.......?

I thought this was kinda weird. I was talking to my friend about a movie Susan Sarandon is in and I mentioned her, but they didn't know who she was. Mind you, they aren't really into hollywood or celebrities in general. I just found it weird cause most people I know, have heard of her.
She is one of the few female older actresses who still get good roles.
But my question is, would you regard her as like an A List Celebrity?
I always find it weird when people haven't heard of celebrities. My dad couldn't think who George Clooney was....I was shocked.
Oh and I know loads of people don't like her cause of her politics, so please keep that out of it.

Susan Sarandon won an Oscar which should make her A list, but she hasn't really done much in the way of starring roles the past decade, so I would say that she is a high B list--but only because I am not certain she could open a movie on her name alone. I have problems with some of the newer actors and actresses that work on 'teen' shows or strictly on the higher cable channels. After awhile they all start to look the same unless of course you are a fan of one in particular.
