What does mixing and mastering a record or album do?
I understand that bands go into a studio and record songs for their album but I just don't understand what mixing and mastering does to the sound or whatever it does. Just curious
when a band records a song they don't all just play the song together and record it, they take each individual instrument and record them separately, so when a producer "mixes" a track then he/she is combining all the recordings to fit together as if the band was playing together all at once
