Pop singer Shakira, who recently visited a school in South Africa to interact with the students, thinks that a grand-scale event like FIFA World Cup can bring attention to issues like education in the world.
Also, rocking the stage in the grand ceremony had distinguished artists, John Legend, Alicia Keys, the Black Eyed Peas, and Colombian heart-throb rocker Juanes.
"I am honored that Waka Waka (This Time For Africa) was chosen to be part of the excitement and the legacy of the 2010 FIFA World Cup," said Shakira. "The FIFA World Cup is a miracle of global excitement, connecting every country, race, religion and condition around a single passion. It represents an event that has the power to unite and integrate, and that's what this song is about."
Shakira continued, "African music is so inspiring and is poised to take its place on the global pop culture stage. I was proud to be able to work with one of South Africa's most acclaimed groups, Freshlyground." The song was co-produced by Shakira's frequent collaborator, John Hill.
"We are thrilled to have collaborated with Shakira on Waka Waka (This Time For Africa), especially as we feel that the song captures the spirit and energy of the African World Cup," said Zolani Mahola of Freshlyground. I don't show a pop up bloker Icon on my yahoo toolbar. How do I get this on my toolbar?
I need to access a website that requests I turn off pop up blocker.. Since I don't know how to do this, i need an icon for it. I used to have this icon, and when reinstalling the toolbar, this icon did not appear..
First, make sure you don't just need to go to the far right of the toolbar where you may see a ">>" symbol. If it is there, click it to see if you don't find your blocker in a pull down menu. If not,
Go to the little yellow pencil that should be right after the big red Y! on the far left of the toolbar. Click it for the menu, choose Personal Options and from there you can choose add/edit buttons. That will pull up a whole new page that will allow you to choose you buttons. Hopefully, the blocker will be one of them.
