What if this tool failed to re-format the pen drive?

There is no other way you can do yourself on that not working pen drive. If the warranty period is still not expired and the physical condition of the pen drive is in good condition (Most importantly the serial number on that Transcend pen drive should be well visible), then you can avail repair or replacement from the retailer where you bought the pen drive. If you don't have serial number and warranty card/bill on your hand, it goes to the dust bin.
