Browning Hi Power safety?
I'm think of buying a nice looking Browning Hi Power 9mm pistol. Very nice condition Belgian gun. However, the gun's magazine safety has been removed. I believe the Mag. safety disconnects the trigger when the magazine is removed from the gun. The manual safety is there and functional. Does removing the mag. safety actually improve the trigger on the Hi Power? Is this something I can have replaced without costing me a bunch of cash? Thanks. . .

The trigger pull on my first Hi Power wasn't as light as I desired even after a nice trigger job. I complained to the gunsmith and he worked on the gun again. The trigger did improve but I was still not satisfied. I was told if he lighten the trigger anymore, there is a high possibility that I will experience slam fires. If I like the trigger pull to improve, I must have the magazine disconnect (which was already polished) disabled. As soon as the magazine disconnect came off, I got a hair trigger (under 2.5 pounds) on my gun; I end up getting a new sear and another trigger job. LOL
All my later Hi Powers and clones except collectables, don't have the magazine disconnect safety and I don't have anything to complain about them.
