If Pujols Trades would his Cardinals autograph be worthless?
I have a pretty big collection of JSA authenticated Pujols signatures. I have 2 baseballs one game used, I also have a rookie signature on a hat, one jersey signed, 2 baseball cards one is a rookie auto, and 3 8x10 photos. My question is do you think the value of these items will go down if he goes to another team and if so should I sell this stuff some time in the summer when he is hot or just hold on to these items and give them to my son.
I'd say keep those Cardinals autographs for several reasons. Alber Pujols is a player that has really forged an identity with the Cardinals and is one of the few players that is indisputably headed toward baseball immortality. Pujols has stakes in the area, as he has done work with the Downs syndrome population, and I would assume given his previous dedication, he will want that placement to be consistent for his son, who requires such permanent fixtures. Albert has earned his love with the Cardinals logo on his chest, and will continue be affiliated throughout his career. I would say, definitively, don't just give them to your son, make sure he understands what an amazing gift he is being given, and urge him to save them for HIS son. Pujols is another Ty Cobb or Babe Ruth, even Roberto Clemente. In the long run, these will be worth a TON, and hopefully even more to the owners, so keep them as a keepsake or pass them on. To address your concern of him moving to another team... I'd pose this, would you say Joe Montana goods would be worth more with the 49ers or the Chiefs?
